Kyra Women’s Project is a unique charity that supports the women of York. Get involved to help women make positive changes in their lives through donations, volunteering or fundraising.
Mothers. Sisters. Daughters. We all have women in our lives and sometimes there are times when they need our help. Kyra Women’s Project recognises that women have different support needs to men. That’s why we provide women of all ages and backgrounds with the support they need to make positive change in their lives.
Your donation is vital for Kyra to continue training programmes, counselling services and positive life-change activities for women.
Donate today to support Kyra.
How your donations help us:
£15 = supplies for gardening group activities
£50 = a one-to-one counselling session
£100 = a four week self-esteem programme for three women
£150 = weekly Your Space sessions for six months
£250 = a Skills For Work training course for a woman
Donating through Gift Aid means KYRA can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give. It won’t cost you any extra. All you need to do is to make a Gift Aid declaration by selecting ‘Gift Aid’ when you donate to Kyra online or you can request a Gift Aid Declaration Form from us at email@example.com. You can include all donations from the last 4 years. Your donations will qualify as long as they’re not more than 4 times what you have paid in tax in that tax year (6 April to 5 April).
Gift Aid for Higher Rate tax-payers
If you are a higher rate tax-payer of 40% or more, you can access the Gift Aid scheme and increase the value of your donation – at no extra cost to you. You claim the difference between the higher (40%) and the basic (20%) tax rate on your donation. For example, if you donate £100 to Kyra we can claim Gift Aid to make your donation worth £125. You are paying 40% tax so you can claim back £25.00 (£125 x 20%). To receive the additional tax relief you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

Dove has struggled with an eating disorder for 30 years. As she continues on her path to recovery and to make positive change in her life, she has turned to Kyra for help. To give back, Dove decided to further challenge herself and skydive to raise funds for Kyra. She set up a fundraising campaign asking people to donate for her jump. Dove raised £ and on 22 March, she completed her skydive.
Thanks Dove for your courageous support and inspiration to other women.
