Local Fund Raiser
Kyra needs help with local fundraising
We are looking for female volunteers to become part of our
Blue Butterflies Team
Blue Butterflies support and are supported by the ‘Caterpillar Crew’ a group of Kyra members who want to be involved with fundraising as part of their individual pathways to personal change. We also work closely with Kyra’s PR team and media lead.
The Blue Butterflies meet on the first Thursday of each month at 5pm for a shared supper and a 5.30pm start. When there is a larger event planned, we meet more frequently by arrangement.
Fund raising events are mainly held at weekends and in the evenings but there are plenty of opportunities for ‘behind the scenes’ work too.
The volunteer posts are restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.
The people we are looking for must be:
- able to uphold the aims and ethos of Kyra
- confident, approachable and friendly
- non-judgemental and non-discriminatory
- able to show initiative and work as part of a team in exploring and developing fundraising ideas
- very reliable
These skills would be very useful:
- previous fundraising or event organising experience
- social media IT skills
- planning and administration skills
- ability to make displays, present merchandise to sell etc
Our Commitment to You:
In exchange for your enthusiasm and commitment we will provide you with an induction where you can learn more about Kyra, Blue Butterflies and Kyra policies , particularly those relating to confidentiality and volunteer boundaries.
You will abe allocated a ‘buddy’ volunteer who will act as mentor and who will be your first point of contact if you have any questions or concerns related to your role.
We will keep you updated on any free, optional training opportunities which regularly become available to all our Kyra volunteers.
After 6 months of regular volunteering, we will be happy to give you a reference if you need one.
Enquiries or to request an application form:
email email@example.com or phone 01904 63 23 32
Short-listed applicants will initially be invited to meet with an experienced volunteer at one of our drop-in sessions to have a look around and meet our other volunteers and members.
Assuming applicants would then like to proceed, they will be invited for an informal interview. All applicants offered a role will need to have a DBS check which we can arrange.
