Female Key Worker and Lead on Employment Skills

You will be an important part of the Kyra team providing individual support to the women attending Kyra who are eligible to participate in a new project – ESF CG5.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies

Hours: 12.5 hours per week for 30 weeks

Salary: £14.00 per hour

Base: Kyra Women’s Project – York

Responsible to: CEO

Accountable to: Chair of Trustees

The Kyra Women’s Project is the only independent charity in York which is dedicated to women’s self-development. It is run by women for women. The Project brings together women who are isolated, emotionally vulnerable, or who are looking for help to improve their wellbeing.

Job Summary

The programme will provide flexible and personalised support for the women of Kyra, who are facing challenges in their lives. The key worker will support and encourage participants recruited to the ESF programme to complete a personal action plan and support them throughout the project. A pathway will be planned in conjunction with the member to support them to achieve individual aims and objectives. The Key worker will have regular contact with the member to monitor progress, encourage and support. You will work with their needs to ensure they make progress and change is relevant and acceptable to them. The supportive, informal and accessible learning environment we provide at Kyra helps to maintain the quality of journey for the individual and the Key worker must ensure the value and ethos of Kyra is maintained.

Within the role, you will support members to gain employability skills to enable their progression towards employment. You will deliver a combination of skills training, structured job focused training programmes, workshops and supported job search. You’ll need to be flexible in terms of working arrangements.
