The Rose Project at Kyra – Keeping in Touch During Lockdown
The Rose Project is for young women aged 16-25. We have been having regular weekly sessions with a focus on wellbeing. These have obviously come to a halt recently but we have managed to stay in touch via email, text, phone calls and weekly zoom meet ups!
In the Zoom meet ups we are looking at:
- How we are managing in these strange new days
- ‘Recommendation of the week’ – what is that essential viewing to break up boredom ?(Breaking Bad and Vampire Diaries if you are wondering?!)
- ‘Gratitudes’ – we are all saying our personal things we are grateful for and putting them in 1 collective jar to open at another time when we are together again!
We also have been sharing our random lockdown purchases… including a HUGE box of Mcoys Flame-baked crisps, a gift of a potato, a jumbo bag of skittles to last a good year, and an inflatable 5ft pizza slice!
We have even ‘met’ a member’s pet hedgehog which was the cutest thing and the highlight of my day!
So far what have the members of the Rose Project learnt? The common message seems to be that its good to talk and its good to share the positives and that’s what we will do.
Below we’ve pulled together a list of young women/people support networks that you might like to check-out.
