This week saw Kyra Women’s Project celebrate 10 years since it first opened its doors to help women in York make positive changes in their lives. The milestone was celebrated with a fundraising dinner attended by staff, volunteers and members of Kyra, past and present.

Guest of Honour was Yvonne Copley MBE, founder of Kyra, who spoke about her motivation for starting the charity and the struggles of the early days. Yvonne watched a moving short film in which members described how important Kyra’s support was to them. Later, Yvonne was presented with a glass trophy to mark the event and the success of 10 years of Kyra.
