Interior, two women in a living room chatting over cups of tea, for “Kyra’s Drop-In Sessions: A Place to Simply Be”

Our comfy living room is just one of the places that our drop ins take place

At Kyra, our drop-in sessions are more than just a regular slot on the calendar—they’re a lifeline. Running every Tuesday afternoon (1pm–3.30pm) and Thursday morning (10am–12.30pm), these sessions offer our members a chance to show up exactly as they are, in their own time and at their own pace.

Comfort, Company, and Creativity

Held in our big, comfy living room and our relaxed kitchen space, drop-ins are a chance to chat, rest, craft, or simply be around others. In the kitchen, the atmosphere is often creative—crocheting, knitting, mindful colouring, and crafting of all kinds are always on the go.

For some, it’s the perfect way to stay grounded—keeping your hands busy while chatting can make conversation feel easier, especially if one-to-one chats feel too intense. And if you don’t feel like talking much at all, that’s absolutely fine too.

A Warm, Welcoming Space

We know from experience—and from the members who attend—that having this kind of space makes a real difference. And the research backs it up: social isolation is linked to increased risks of coronary heart disease and mental health challenges, while group activities like crafting or gardening can significantly boost wellbeing.

Because you don’t need to book, these sessions are accessible to more women. Flexible, low-pressure spaces like this reduce stigma and offer gentle, repeated chances to build relationships. Over time, that kind of regular, informal contact helps women feel a deeper sense of belonging and connection—and that’s exactly what our drop-ins aim to provide.

Why It Matters

Sometimes, having somewhere to go—where you’re greeted with warmth and offered a hot drink—can be the start of real change. Even if you’re not a member yet, you’re welcome to pop in and see if Kyra feels like the right place for you.

Many women first walk through our doors for a drop-in, then choose to enrol while they’re here. From there, new members might join a course, try a workshop, or just keep coming back for the connection.
