Interior, three women singing into microphones, for “Kyra Voices: Singing for Joy, Connection, and Wellbeing”

If you’ve ever belted out your favourite song in the car or hummed along to the radio while making a cuppa, you’ll know how good singing can feel. At Kyra, we’ve taken that joy one step further with Kyra Voices—our very own choir group that’s been bringing women together through song for years.

Kyra Voices runs every other Thursday from 6pm to 7.30pm in our big, comfy living room. It’s led by our brilliant Carol, who brings warmth, encouragement, and a great sense of fun to every session. There’s no audition, no pressure, and no need to book—just turn up and sing.

Whether someone is a confident singer or has only ever sung in the shower, they’re welcome. These sessions are about joy, confidence, and connection—not perfection.

Why Singing in a Group Matters

Singing has been proven to be powerful for mental health. Over 2.8 million people in the UK take part in choirs, and research shows that this isn’t just because it’s fun (though it definitely is).

Studies show that group singing is linked to reduced feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression, while also boosting happiness and overall wellbeing. And it’s no wonder it feels so good—singing together releases endorphins, oxytocin, and serotonin, which lift your mood and help you feel more connected and at ease.

At Kyra, we see this firsthand. Many members come to choir feeling nervous or low, and leave feeling lighter, energised, and more connected.

A Welcoming Space for Every Woman

Kyra Voices is all about inclusion and joy—no music reading required, and no need to sing solo. It’s a low-pressure, welcoming space where anyone can come along, find their voice, and enjoy the moment.

Many of our members are surprised by how quickly they settle in—and how much they come to treasure the experience.
