We’re really excited to be taking part in York Pride on Saturday 30 May!
For the first time ever, Kyra will be both marching in the parade and running a stall at the Knavesmire. Whether you want to walk with us, come and say hello, or just take it all in, we’d love to see you there!
Pride in York has grown hugely over the years. The first ever march took place in 2012, and last year more than 17,500 people attended.
2025 also saw York’s first Trans Pride event, which was a brilliant addition, and you can see we’re all fully behind!

Marching Together
We’ll be joining the Pride parade through the city, walking from Parliament Street to the Knavesmire (you can see the full route on the map below).
The march is around 2.4 miles, taken at a very relaxed pace, usually lasting between one and two hours. It’s designed to be as accessible as possible, and you can join for as much or as little of it as feels right for you.

We’ll have glitter, face paint, flags and banners ready, so you don’t need to bring anything – just yourself. Allies are all very welcome too.
One thing to bear in mind: it can be hot, it can rain, and sometimes it manages to do both in the same day. If you are joining us, dress for all eventualities and wear comfortable shoes!
Come and Find Us at the Knavesmire
Alongside the march, we’ll also have a Kyra stall for our LGBTQ+ group at the Knavesmire from 11am – 5:30pm.
If you prefer a quieter start to the day, there’s a quiet hour from 11am – 12pm, with no music or loud noise playing. Feel free to come along then if that feels more comfortable for you!
The stall will be run by people who know Kyra’s LGBTQ+ group well: Maisie (LGBTQ+ group facilitator) and Alice (LGBTQ+ group volunteer) will be there across the day, so you can ask questions, find out more, or just have a chat.
We’ll also have:
- Mindful colouring for anyone who wants to sit and take a breather
- Interactive prompt cards to gather ideas on how we can keep improving our group
- Pride-themed gift bags to give away
Whether you stay for five minutes or an hour, you’re very welcome.

We hope to see you there!
