Marking the End of Our Capacitar Sessions at Kyra
Over the past few months, Kyra members have been gathering each week to take part in something a little different—Capacitar, a series of gentle, grounding wellness sessions rooted in movement, breath, and energy.
Now, as these sessions come to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate what they’ve brought us—and thank the incredible volunteers who made them happen.
Capacitar’s global mission is simple but powerful: heal ourselves, heal our world. Developed over 30 years ago and now used in more than 45 countries, Capacitar teaches body-based practices that help people manage the emotional and physical effects of trauma.
Capacitar’s about self-care, empowerment, and awakening the strength that already lives within us.
What the Sessions Offered
At Kyra, our Capacitar practices for healing, wellbeing and self-care sessions included a wide range of techniques from across the globe—breathwork, meditation, energy work and more. These simple yet powerful tools offered our members ways to feel more present, supported, and steady during challenging times.
For many, it was a rare opportunity to slow down and tune in. Each weekly session was a space to reconnect with the body, release tension, and simply breathe.
Huge Thanks to Jo and Sue
None of this would’ve been possible without Jo and Sue, the two excellent volunteers who gave their time, energy, and care to run these sessions. Their warmth, dedication, and steady presence helped create a welcoming space that supported healing and wellbeing in such a meaningful way.
At Kyra, we say it often because it’s true—we couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. They’re at the heart of everything, and Jo and Sue have been shining examples of just how much impact a volunteer can have.
Support the Work We Do
As we close the chapter on these Capacitar sessions, we’re so grateful for what they’ve brought to our community. If you’d like to support more transformative activities like this, consider donating, fundraising, or becoming a corporate sponsor.
Every contribution helps us keep offering the tools, space, and support that women need to feel strong, safe, and connected.
