Kyra’s Route to Recovery project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is one year old this week! The project helps women who have experienced domestic abuse or mental illness to access support from Kyra

Anna Perrett, Project Manager, says: “We have had nearly 60 women join this project and they have made great progress towards their goals. Some of them have actually finished their programme already. We have great plans for year two including our first public event – we’ll be at the York Festival of Ideas in June.”

One participant said: “I didn’t realise what an impact this place would have, its life changing already, and you can see that in the other women too. It does feel like a safe space.”

Another said: “I have completed all of the courses I wanted to attend for now on my R2R journey. Thank you once again for your kindness and support. I’m a completely different person now!”
